Privacy Policy

The short version

We use Google Analytics to see how people use the site - but only if you say yes to the cookie banner. Other than that, we only get information you choose to give us, like through the contact form or an email, and we only use it to reply to you. Two outside services are involved: Google Analytics, only after you accept, and SendGrid, which delivers what you send through the contact form.

What we collect

• Analytics - only if you accept. Click "Accept All" and Google Analytics starts tracking basic stuff like which pages get visited and what kind of device you're on. Click "Reject All" and it stays off. You can change your mind anytime using the "Your Privacy Choices" button in the corner of any page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as "Reject All" automatically and do not show the banner.
• The contact form. When you submit the "Start a project" form, the name, email address and message you typed are sent to our server and delivered to info@knackhook.com. We use SendGrid, an email service run by Twilio, to deliver that message, so it passes through their systems on the way to our inbox. We keep the resulting email for as long as the inquiry is relevant. If you would rather not use the form, emailing us directly reaches the same place.
• Job applications. If you apply for a role by email, we keep your application on file while we're considering it, and afterward if you're hired.
• Emails. If you email us, we keep that conversation around for as long as it's relevant.

What we don't collect

We don't use ad trackers, sell your data, or track you across other sites. Ever.

How long we keep it

Analytics data follows Google's standard retention for GA4. Emails stick around only as long as they're relevant - usually a few years at most, unless we're legally required to keep them longer.

Your rights

Want to know what we have on you, fix it, or delete it? Just email info@knackhook.com and we'll sort it out. You can also change your cookie choice at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices" button in the corner of any page.

If you live in California, Oregon, or another state with a consumer privacy law, you have specific rights over your personal information. Depending on where you live, those typically include:

• Know and access. Ask what personal information we have about you, where it came from, and who we have shared it with.
• Correct. Ask us to fix personal information that is wrong.
• Delete. Ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, unless we are required to keep it.
• Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The only third party that receives anything through this site is Google Analytics, and only after you accept analytics cookies.
• No retaliation. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
• Appeal. If we decline a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our response. If you are still not satisfied, you may contact your state Attorney General.

To make a request, email info@knackhook.com with what you are asking for. We will confirm we received it and respond as quickly as we reasonably can. We may need to verify who you are before we act on a request about specific information, and an authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission.

If anything here changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
